2021 RECAP

I tried not to let COVID slow me down in 2021. With regular gigs at Seaport Village and One Paseo, I performed 16 times during the year. I also played some new venues: Emerald C, Steele 94, Lane Field Park, and I got the chance to play one of my favorite spots in Lake Tahoe: Alibi Ale Works. I am extremely grateful for all of the people who came out to see me during the year. I also want to say thanks to Justin Sandercoe, who featured me as one of his Star Students on his website Justin Guitar. And lastly, a big thanks to thank two local newspapers, The Coronado Times and The Coast News, who both featured me in stories this year.

2020 recap

2020 was a challenging year for all musicians. The year got off to such a great start; I played the Carlsbad Marathon for the third year and performed at a fundraiser for the Mitchell Thorp Foundation. But my musical highlight for the year was the San Diego Buskers Festival, where I placed second, competing against professional musicians from all around the country. However, in mid-March, because of COVID restrictions, my plans for the year changed dramatically. Like many other performers, my shows for the year were canceled, including my concert at the San Diego County Fair. But despite all the challenges of 2020, I tried to make the best of things. I did a 2-hour live stream concert from my backyard with my brother. I appeared on an episode of Seaport Sessions, and the San Diego radio station 94.9 featured my cover of Golden Touch on the Quarantine Talent Show. I also did a virtual interview and performance for the Rock n' Roll Camp for Girls San Diego, and I even performed live once from the balcony at Seaport Village. I hope, like so many others, that 2021 will be a better year.

2019 RECAP

I’m getting ready for my last show of 2019 next week, wrapping up a busy year.  I’ve played over 20 shows at some amazing venues; including, The House of Blues, The Roxy, Julian Station, San Diego County Fair, Alibi Ale Works, Northstar Resort, Grossmont Center, Carlsbad Marathon, Encinitas Half Marathon, Cuyamaca College, Encinitas Street Fair, Little Italy Farmers Market, Santee Street Fair, Mira Mesa Street Fair, Old Town San Diego, and South Park Porchfest. This year my brother, Baxter, opened for me at a lot of my performances, and he even played a few songs with me during my set, as well. It’s been fun to add him to my show. Besides live performances, I also wrote, recorded and released my first original song, What My Name Is, which is available on all streaming platforms. When I wasn’t on the stage I had the chance to spend some time with chart-topping international recording artist Lewis Capaldi and visit some historic NYC music locations, like Cafe Wha and the Bitter End. For the most part, I’ve had the chance to accomplish the things I wanted to do musically this year and still be a normal high school student. I want to thank everyone who supported me over the last year, from the venues who allowed me to perform to the people who came to my shows and streamed my music. I have some exciting things planned for next year, including a benefit concert I am organizing and performing at for my favorite San Diego charity.  See you in 2020.

2018 recap

Wow. It’s been a great 2018. I played gigs from California to Colorado. County fairs, breweries, marathons, and coffee shops, I was out rocking anywhere and everywhere. I even won a big trophy, found myself on the cover of a magazine, and played a few songs with Marty Schwartz in his studio. I spent some time traveling and I had the chance to visit The Sunset Strip in LA, Abbey Road Studios in London and Third Man Records in Nashville, TN. Somehow I was also lucky enough to meet some of my favorite musical artists like Tom Misch, Trevor Holmes, Ady Suleiman, Shame and Goat Girl. I want to thank everyone for all of their support over the past year. I can’t wait to see what will happen in 2019.
